Welcome to Castle Rock Farm, home of AGS and NDGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats, various laying hens, two guard llamas, and a Border Collie in training. We are located in the rolling hills of northern Vacaville, on the Western edge of the Great Central Valley with Sacramento to our East, Napa & San Francisco to our West.

We are always happy to discuss our animals with anyone (including unsuspecting passers-by)- both their strengths and weaknesses. We have participated in 305 day DHIA milk test in the past, but have found increasing costs to outweigh the benefits. While very beneficial- I learned a tremendous amount about what qualities lead to a good lactation, I did not feel that I could afford to continue to spend so much time and money on the process. In 2008 we did one day test for a few of our does at the AGS National Show, and were quite happy with the results. While not currently on 305 day test, I do milk twice a day for at least 8-10 months. Because I use my herd's milk for my business, the herd is run and managed as a dairy, and a doe that does not meet my milking standards does not stay on the farm.

We participated in ADGA's Linear Appraisal program in mid-2008, and found that to be an invaluable source of information. All does who have been appraised have their scores listed, as I feel it is more honest to give an accurate picture of the whole herd, not just the very top does. Few of our bucks have any show wins since they mostly stay home, and prove their worth through their daughters.

We do get a very large volume of e-mails every day- if you have not received a response within a week of contacting us, please try again as it may have found its way into a spam filter, or may have been burried under an avalanche of other e-mails.
