CRF Castle Rock Shasta
DOB 5/18/6
3 x GCH Jr.

Sire: Twin Creeks MF Moon Rock *S
(Goodwood Maltese Falcon *S x MCH Piddlin Acres Tiny Bubbles *D 'E')
Dam: Twin Creeks BW Cascade
(MCH Twin Creeks BH Bay Watch ++*S 'E' x Far-n-Best Little Darlin' VG)

Every so often, you manage to get a kid who seems to have pulled the best each of her parents had to offer into one package, and Shasta appears to be one of those. She's combined the incredible spring of rib and capacity of her sire with the dairy character and elegance of her dam.  This was a bad, fuzzy picture of her- hopefully we'll get a new one sometime this spring.

CRF Castle Rock Skyrocket Gilia
DOB 1/27/8
1x RGCH Jr., 1xGCH Jr.

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D
(Twin Creeks BW Rebel w/o a Cause *S x ARMCH/CH/PGCH Esperanza WS Sara *D'VG')

Lia certainly appears to take after her Aunt Cali- I can't believe how much they look alike. Lia has been little Ms. Personality from day one, so how could I not keep her? She's a very nicely balanced doe, with a level topline, a very nice set of straight legs, smoothness of blending and flat dairy bone.

CRF Castle Rock Honey Child
DOB 2/1/8
1 x RGCH Jr.

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: Algedi Farm S Honey Heart 5*D AR 1980
(Kaapio Acre's KK Sultan *S x CH Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey 4*D)

Those of you from the South will probably recognize the correct pronunciation of this doe's name (Honey Chy-ile) with the appropriate silent "d". While her expression is not the happiest (we kept pulling away the hand that was giving those enjoyable chest scratches), she is a stylish little doe who went reserve grand champion junior on her first weekend out to a show. She is, like her maternal half sisters, very stretchy with a long elegant neck, lots of dairy character, and ribs you can already stick a thumb between.

CRF Castle Rock Tesla
DOB 2/13/08

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: ARMCH Lost Valley TB Infinity 4*D
(MCH Lost Valley Tae-Bo *S x MCH Lost Valley Mercedes 3*D)

Tesla (named after the electric sports car, not the band) was one of my favorites from the beginning of the kidding season. In addition to being a long, elegant doe, she has this quiet sense of dignity about her. She would never think to bleat loudly- that would be undignified, rather, she will quietly slip into your lap or gently nibble at your shirt until you notice she is there.

CRF Castle Rock Bumble Bee
DOB 3/11/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Sky Walker *S
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Honey Bee
(Lost Valley KW Stetson *S x Algedi Farm S Honey Heart 5*D AR 1980)

Bumble Bee is one of the first kids by Sky Walker in our herd, and seems to have been an indicator of just how nice his kids have turned out this year.  She's a stretchy doe with smooth blending, high withers, a level topline and great angularity you can really see on the few occasions when she walks (she usually travels via hops, leaps, and twists).  Overall, I am quite pleased with how she has turned out.

CRF Castle Rock Tamalpais
DOB 3/29/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Sky Walker *S
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Denali
(Buttin'Heads Sharp No.2 Pencil x Twin Creeks BW Cascade)

I keep telling this girl that she's my mini-saanen- with her wattles and almost white coloring (in the right light you can see her faint gold patches), she has that general appearance.  I am very happy with how this doe is looking- she has an exceptionally wide, flat rump, smooth blending, good angularity, and length of body.  She's got dairy character to spare, and a super sweet face that probably results in more than her fair share of attention.

CRF Castle Rock Roxanne
DOB 3/29/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir
(Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S x Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven)
Dam: Castle Rock Annabelle
(Buttin'Heads Sharp No.2 Pencil x PGCH Twin Creeks WB Christabelle *D )

Roxanne is a very long necked, angular, and wide doe with good blending and a smoothly blended front end assembly with a flat topline.  Even though still small, she has a tremendous amount of width between her hocks on the move- a trait that runs pretty strongly on the maternal side of her family tree.

CRF Castle Rock Brie
DOB 3/31/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir
(Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S x Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Mouzza *D
(Buttin'Heads Sharp No.2 Pencil x Shooting Star Feta)

Brie's dam, Mouzza, is the niece of our doe Sara, whose bloodlines seem to combine very well with Montego Bay genetics. She looks like a rather unassuming doe, but her dam was a slow to mature doe who has hit her stride as a three year old.

CRF Castle Rock Scarlet Flax
DOB 4/1/8

Sire: Fairlea Barnaby Rudge *S
(Rosasharns Julius *S x ARMCH Fairlea Gretchen 2*D E)
Dam: ARMCH/CH/PGCH Esperanza WS Sara *D'VG'
(MCH/PGCH Ponders End MTB Wall Street x Esperanza ZZ Sedona Snowstorm)

For various reasons (i.e. single buck kid), it's been a few years since I have been able to keep a doe kid from Sara, so I am quite happy to have Scarlet join the herd.  She has super flat bone and is another kid with an exceptionally wide and flat rump and great spring of rib.  She is already growing longer and has nice angularity and a very promising topline.

CRF Castle Penny Wise
DOB 4/12/08

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir
(Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S x Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Moneypenny *D
(Twin Creeks PD MoneyintheBank 'VG' x Ponders End SL Faerie Dust)

Penny Wise was a bit of a surprise- with how big her dam looked near the end of her pregnancy, we were pretty sure she was carrying quite a few kids, especially since we had quintuplets and sextuplets born the same week from does who looked smaller.  Surprise! Just a single doe. Moneypenny apparently put all of her energy into creating a clone of herself, although I happily note that Penny Wise does seem to have a better front end assembly and quieter voice. She kept the dairy character of her dam, and has the genetic background to be an outstanding milk producer.

CRF Castle Rock Arroyo Willow
DOB 5/10/8

Sire: Fairlea Barnaby Rudge *S
(Rosasharns Julius *S x ARMCH Fairlea Gretchen 2*D E)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Arroyo Lupine
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)

Willow is your typical end-of-the-kidding-season spoiled bottle baby, believing that she should always be either under foot or on top of lap. She really is quite eye catching on the move, and has such a sense of herself that she talks back when I tell her "no". She is a small refined doe with nice blending, angularity, and very good width between the hocks.
