CRF Castle Rock Skyrocket Gilia
DOB 1/27/8
1x RGCH Jr., 1xGCH Jr.

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D
(Twin Creeks BW Rebel w/o a Cause *S x ARMCH/CH/PGCH Esperanza WS Sara *D'VG')

Lia certainly appears to take after her Aunt Cali- I can't believe how much they look alike. Lia has been little Ms. Personality from day one, so how could I not keep her? She's a very nicely balanced doe, with a level topline, a very nice set of straight legs, smoothness of blending and flat dairy bone.

CRF Castle Rock Honey Child
DOB 2/1/8
2 x RGCH Jr.

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: Algedi Farm S Honey Heart 5*D AR 1980
(Kaapio Acre's KK Sultan *S x CH Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey 4*D)

Those of you from the South will probably recognize the correct pronunciation of this doe's name (Honey Chy-ile) with the appropriate silent "d". She is a stylish little doe who has done fairly well in limited showings. She is a very stretchy doe with a long elegant neck, a nice front end assembly, good angularity, and nice sweep and spring to her ribs.

CRF Castle Rock Tesla
DOB 2/13/08

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: ARMCH Lost Valley TB Infinity 4*D
(MCH Lost Valley Tae-Bo *S x MCH Lost Valley Mercedes 3*D)

Tesla (named after the electric sports car, not the band) was one of my favorites from the beginning of the kidding season. In addition to being a long, elegant doe, she has this quiet sense of dignity about her. She would never think to bleat loudly (for that would be undignified) rather, she will quietly slip into your lap or gently nibble at your shirt until you notice she is there.

CRF Castle Rock Tuscan Sun
DOB 2/15/8
1x GCH Jr.

Sire: Woodhaven Farms Latigo
(Woodhaven Farms TKO x Woodhaven Farms Shaula Parker)
Dam: TX Twin Creeks WDF Sunsprite
(MCH-CH Pecan Hollow Willy's Dance Fever *S x MCH-CH Goodwood Good Day Sunshine E)

Lots of dairy character, spring of rib, angularity, with a very strong front end assembly. Like her dam, she is polled, long bodied and elegant.

CRF Castle Rock Bumble Bee
DOB 3/11/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Sky Walker *S
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Honey Bee
(Lost Valley KW Stetson *S x Algedi Farm S Honey Heart 5*D AR 1980)

Bumble Bee is one of the first kids by Sky Walker in our herd, and seems to have been an indicator of just how nice his kids have turned out.  She's a very feminine doe with smooth blending, high withers, a level topline and great angularity you can really see when she is on the move.  Overall, I am quite pleased with how she has turned out.

CRF Castle Rock Tamalpais
DOB 3/29/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Sky Walker *S
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Denali
(Buttin'Heads Sharp No.2 Pencil x Twin Creeks BW Cascade)

I keep telling this girl that she's my mini-saanen- with her wattles and almost white coloring (in the right light you can see her faint gold patches), she has that general appearance.  I am very happy with how this doe is looking- she has an exceptionally wide, flat rump, smooth blending, good angularity, and length of body.  She's got dairy character to spare, and a super sweet face that probably results in more than her fair share of attention.

CRF Castle Rock Brie
DOB 3/31/8

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir
(Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S x Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Mouzza *D
(Buttin'Heads Sharp No.2 Pencil x Shooting Star Feta)

Brie's dam, Mouzza, is the niece of our doe Sara, whose bloodlines seem to combine very well with Montego Bay genetics. Brie looks like a rather unassuming doe, but her dam was a slow to mature doe who finally hit her stride as a three year old.  One of our friendliest, if you find yourself at our farm under a furry black and white attention-seeking-missile, there's a 50-50 chance that it is either our Border Collie, or Brie.

CRF Castle Rock Black Ice
DOB 4/17/08

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir
(Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S x MCH/PGCH Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven)
)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Blizzard 3*D
(Lost Valley KW Stetson *S x Castle Rock SnowFluryCeanothus 2*D)

An unassuming doe kid who has spent most of her time just hanging out at the farm. Finally, last fall, I decided to take her to her first show, and oh! the! drama! to just get her to walk out of the field. I was having second thoughts about show time, and wouldn't you know it- she walked into the ring and acted like showing was her favorite thing in the world, and ended up going reserve. I do believe we have a diva on our hands!

CRF Castle Rock Arroyo Willow
DOB 5/10/8

Sire: Fairlea Barnaby Rudge *S
(Rosasharns Julius *S x ARMCH Fairlea Gretchen 2*D E)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Arroyo Lupine
(Rosasharn HB Mithrandir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)

Willow is your typical end-of-the-kidding-season spoiled bottle baby, believing that she should always be either on my lap or under my feet. She really is quite eye catching on the move, and has such a sense of herself that she talks back when I tell her "no". She is a small refined doe with nice blending, angularity, and very good width between the hocks.

CRF Castle Rock Sun Saphire
DOB 2/16/09

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Cobalt
(CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir x MCH-CH Castle Rock Once Ina Blue Moon 2*D)
Dam: TX Twin Creeks WDF Sunsprite
(MCH-CH Pecan Hollow Willy's Dance Fever *S x MCH-CH Goodwood Good Day Sunshine E)

As Sunsprite (who is polled) was going into labor, Andy asked me what I thought the chances of getting a polled, blue-eyed, doe kid were. Apparently, they were pretty good, as our first kid of the year turned out to be this lovely polled and blue eyed doe kid. As I was drying her off, I said "this one is definitely mine!"- and I guess she heard me, because even though she was dam-raised she runs to me like a bottle baby. She's long and level on the move, has a very elegant neck, lots of space between the ribs, and has the potential to have an outstanding udder when she freshens.

CRF Castle Rock Magpie
DOB 4/25/09

Sire: Rosasharn TL Sitka Spruce *S
(ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S E x ARMCH Rosasharn's UMT Sassafras 5*D E)
Dam: MCH Cloverdale YJ Blue Raven
(PromisedLand CP Yellow Jacket *S x Pecan Hollow Bonnie Blue'VG')

Finally, a doe kid from Raven! As you can see, she is nice and level while on the move, and when you put your hands on her, you can feel lots of dairy character. Magie is definitely a slow to mature kid, which does allow her to get away with still curling up in my lap every now and then.

CRF Castle Rock Sweet Heart
DOB 2/06/10

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Harvest Moon *S
(Rosasharn TL Sitka Spruce *S x MCH-CH Castle Rock Once Ina Blue Moon 2*D )
Dam: ARMCH-CH Algedi Farm S Honey Heart 5*D
(Kaapio Acre's KK Sultan *S x CH Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey 4*D VVEE)

The beginning of the 2010 kidding season started out very buck-heavy, and I had decided that I'd have to sell Honey Heart's doe kid to fill some reservations. But the longer I looked at this kid, the more I came to realize that I couldn't let her go- she was just too nice to pass up. In addition to that little heart outline on her side, she has very flat bone, and in person you can see that really flat wide rump and the high thurls we are trying to make more common in the Nigerian gene pool.

CRF Castle Rock Karmann Ghia
DOB 2/05/10

Sire: Rosasharn TL Sitka Spruce *S
(ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S E x ARMCH Rosasharn's UMT Sassafras 5*D E)
Dam: ARMCH Lost Valley TB Infinity 4*D
(MCH Lost Valley Tae-Bo *S x MCH Lost Valley Mercedes 3*D)

This doe is the product of a repeat breeding from last year that I liked so much, I had to do it again. Karmann has a nice level topline, smoothness of blending and angularity with a very feminine face.

CRF Castle Rock Saranade
DOB 2/10/10

Sire: Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S
(MCH Twin Creeks BH Bay Watch ++*S 'E' x MCH Gay-Mor's JJU Nonpareil 3*D 'E')
Dam: ARMCH/CH/PGCH Esperanza WS Sara *D'VG'
(MCH/PGCH Ponders End MTB Wall Street x Esperanza ZZ Sedona Snowstorm)

This little lady is almost the spitting image of her dam, and very much the fiesty personality. With the loss of Sara due to a complicated kidding, this kid and her sister (below) will have very large hoof prints to fill.

CRF Castle Rock Sarafina
DOB 2/10/10

Sire: Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay +*S
(MCH Twin Creeks BH Bay Watch ++*S 'E' x MCH Gay-Mor's JJU Nonpareil 3*D 'E')
Dam: ARMCH/CH/PGCH Esperanza WS Sara *D'VG'
(MCH/PGCH Ponders End MTB Wall Street x Esperanza ZZ Sedona Snowstorm)

Sarafina reminds me so much of her big sister, CRF Castle Rock Lullaby who resides in the Sly Farms herd. Much more cuddly than her sister Saranade, Sarafina seems to have gotten the quiet dignity of her dam, and so far is my favorite kid of 2010.

CRF Castle Rock Velvet Lupine
DOB 2/10/10

Sire: CRF Castle Rock Mr. Lincoln
(Woodhaven Farms Latigo x TX TwinCreeks WDF Sunsprite)
Dam: CRF Castle Rock Arroyo Lupine
(Rosasharn HB Mithranidir *S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*D)

Because all of my favorite does this year have been buckskin- here's another one! It took a few days for me to realize that I kept staring at this doe in the kid pen. When I got the opportunity to sit for a little while and put my hands on her, it became clear that not only is she eye catching, she also has a tight front end assembly, flat bone, good spring of rib, and nice angularity.
